Fort Royal beach
Ultimate guide (December 2024)
Fort Royal is a hotel's beach on Basse Terre island in
Guadeloupe. In fact, these are two different beaches, - one looking to the west, and another wild beach looking to the north. So you can choose a more suitable option - depending on the wind direction. There are a lot of trees and palms everywhere, and there is no algae problem in the low season. Unfortunately, there is no snorkeling to speak of. In addition, there is nothing interesting in a walking distance around. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.

Hotels [edit]
Langley Resort (aka Fort Royal) is a 3-star property with rooms' rates starting from US$170 per night. It makes sense to take more expensive beach bungalows.
There are also few more guesthouses (from US$70) located a little further away from the coastline. In any case, you have right to use the whole beach. Sorry, but the nearest good supermarket is located far to the east - in
Saint Rose town.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Guadeloupe international airport (PTP). Next hire a taxi.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a holiday on Fort Royal beach is a dry season from January to June.
