Lingshui Nanwan beach

Lingshui Nanwan is a beach in the south of Monkey Island (陵水南湾猴 岛生态景区) in Hainan, China. It is a true tropical paradise with palms and without buildings. This is a great spot, since most of beaches in Hainan are overdeveloped with skyscrapers. You can get to Monkey Island by cable car from the main beach of Lingshui Bay. Cable car passes above the notable fish market located on the water, and next you'll have to walk about half an hour. But if you are not interested in monkeys, you can try to get to the Monkey Island by boat, and then walk to the south beach along the coast. The trail is popular, so it's impossible to loose it. Hotels [edit]

There are no hotels on the Monkey Island. The nearest hotels are located a little to the west - on Qingshuiwan beach (Lingshui bay). Rooms' rates start from US$150 per night.

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Sanya international airport (SYX). Then hire a taxi. Or you may also fly to Haikou international airport (HAK). But it is located in the north of the island - far from most tourist attractions. You can move around the island by buses. But it can be hard to understand how local transport is operating.

When to go [edit]

The best time for a beach holiday in the south-west of China is April and October-November. The main problem is that the summer is a rainy season (from May to September), while it is too cold in winter (from December to March).
