Bakwa beach

Bakwa is a beach in the southeast of Rodrigues Island, Mauritius. The place is beautiful, but not so good for swimming due to strong low tides and dangerous underwater currents. It is mostly used for kitesurfing, since wind is strong most of time. Shore and seabed: sand, stones. [edit]

Bakwa Lodge is a five-star hotel with rooms' rates starting from US$300 per night. It is not real five-star, but their price tag is still quite reasonable. However, all prices inside the resort are very upscale.

When to go [edit]

The best time for a beach holiday on Rodrigues island in Mauritius is the warm period from December to May. Since sea water is very cold rest of the year.
