Carnash Bay beach

Carnash Bay is a perfect low key beach on Mayreau island, Grenadines. West side is the Caribbean coast with palms, white sand, azure water, without waves and without stones (thus no snorkeling). East side is the Atlantic coast with dramatic views and without crowds, - just walk feeling yourself like being on the edge of the Earth. As for the downsides, all of these are resulting from good features of this place. Protected bay is a comfortable mooring spot, sometimes attracting too many yachts. Cheap bars are great to hang out right on the beach. But they often play loud music till the early morning, disturbing those who try to sleep. However, this is an extremely positive place, where all these "problems" nor matter for most of visitors. Shore and seabed: sand. [edit]

Hotels [edit]

Salt Whistle Bay is a basic hotel with rooms' fares starting from US$100 per night (including all taxes). There is no air conditioning, but in general the service is good enough. For this location, this is a bargain anyway!

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Saint Vincent international airport (SVD) or fly to Barbados international airport (BGI). Next fly to Union island airport (UNI).

There is good boat connection (water taxis) between Union Island and Mayreau island, providing different level of service. So ticket prices range from cheap to expensive depending on what boat you prefer.

There is also mail boat running between the islands of Bequia, Canouan, Mayreau and Union Island. The journey itself is not comfortable. In addition, the ship is not parking at the island's pier. Instead, it stays in the bay, while small boats are delivering passengers and cargo items to the land and back.
