Coconut Grove Bay beach

Coconut Grove Bay is a small beach located to the east of famous Wenchang Bay in Hainan Island, China. As one might expect, there really are a lot of picturesque palms. Unfortunately, there is an artificial sandbar opposite the beach, which will be developed in the future. So no good view. On the other hand, there are never strong waves on the beach, which seems to be a good feature. But sea water is shallow being suitable for the smaller children only. Shore and seabed: sand. [edit]

Hotels [edit]

Bai Laima Resort (百莱玛度假村) is a 4-star property with good garden. Unfortunately, the hotel doesn't have its own beach. So you'll just have to walk around searching for interesting spots.

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Sanya international airport (SYX). Then hire a taxi. Or you may also fly to Haikou international airport (HAK). But it is located in the north of the island - far from most tourist attractions. You can move around the island by buses. But it can be hard to understand how local transport is operating.

When to go [edit]

The best time for a beach holiday in the south-west of China is April and October-November. The main problem is that the summer is a rainy season (from May to September), while it is too cold in winter (from December to March).
