Grande Terre is an optional addition to the superb Salines beach, located a little to the north. The further you walk to the south-east, it becomes less crowded. But the coastline becomes more depressive as well, - with stronger waves, rare trees and a lot of seaweed in the low season. However, it is nice here sometimes, - when the weather is calm. There are no hotels near the beach. But it is possible to spend a night in tent. However, Martinique is not a place, where overnight camping is popular.
