Motu Paeao island

Motu Paeao is a tiny islet (motu) in the north of Maupiti atoll, French Polynesia. There is only one small hotel. So it's always quiet - without morning roosters. As for the beaches, these are not very good. But still there is a sandy patch with good entry into the water. Motu is located between two larger motus. So you can even walk over the channels during the low tide. Thus, you can choose this place as a starting point to explore most of the atoll coastline. Shore and seabed: broken corals, sand. [edit]

Hotels [edit]

Pension Fare Pae'ao "Chez Nelson et Lahaina" is the only accommodation on the island. In general, it's not so bad. But it seems that the owners don't care enough about their guests. Of course, this is Polynesia, but not Thailand. But still one might expect a warmer welcome.

How to get there [edit]

Fly to the airport of Bora Bora (BOB), next fly to Maupiti airport (MAU).

There are also direct flights from Tahiti island and even from Raiatea island. Once you are in Maupiti, free boat of Air Tahiti will deliver you to the main island of the atoll. Please also note, that many hotels provide for their guests free transfer from the airport.

The best time for a beach holiday in Motu Paeao island is a dry period from April to September.
