Oxa beach

Oxa is a secluded beach on the southeast coast of Phangan island, Thailand. The beach is beautiful, comfortable for swimming - with occasional wild areas (no people or buildings). However, you should know that the beach is located in the middle of nowhere. It is still possible to walk to the shops. But there are no any entertainments nearby. Shore and seabed: sand, stones. In the hotels of Oxa beach, rooms' fares starts from US$20 per night. Most accommodation options are not presented in international booking systems. So it makes sense just to walk along the coastline asking about free rooms.

How to get there [edit]

You may get from Bangkok to Phangan island by Lomprayah high-speed catamaran. But the best is to fly to Samui island, and next get by ferry from Maenam beach to Phangan island.

There are two options to fly from Bangkok to Samui:

1. Direct flight to Samui Airport (USM). This way is most convenient, but also the most expensive.

2. Fly to Surat Thani airport (URT) by AirAsia low-coster. Then get by taxi (1200 bahts) to Donsak Pier. Then get to Samui by any ferry (Raja ferry is the best, but other services are also good). It is the best value for money way of getting to Koh Samui, but takes a little longer time, as the road from Suratthani airport to Samui takes a few hours.

The best time for a beach holiday in Pha-ngan island is a dry season from January to April, as well as second dry season from June to September.
