Punaluu beach
Ultimate guide (October 2025)
Punaluu is a black sand beach in the southeast of Big Island of Hawaii. It is also known as Turtle Beach. There are many picturesque palms with welcoming shade. But swimming is uncomfortable due to the rocky sea bottom and strong waves. Both paid and free parking lots are available. The beach has no any kind of amenities, nor shops or cafes. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.
