Cheung Chau island
Ultimate guide (December 2024)
Cheung Chau is a small island in the south-west of Hong Kong. There are few good beaches and authentic atmosphere of the old China.
Kwun Yam Wan is the best beach of the island, - it's located on the east bay, just behind the helipad. Shore and seabed: sand.

Hotels [edit]
There are several hotels in the central part of the island. Room is about 100 US dollars per night, which is rather inexpensive by the standards of Hong Kong.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Hong Kong International Airport (HKG). City can be reached by bus or by train. There is a ferry from the Central Pier #5 of Hong Kong to Cheung Chau island running every half an hour.
When to go [edit]
It's too rainy in Hong Kong in summer, while winter is too cold. October (and maybe April) is the only month perfect both for a beach holiday, as well as for excursions.
