La Piscina beach

La Piscina is a beach in Tayrona Park (Colombia) being the only one suitable for swimming. Due to the home reef, there are no big waves or strong currents. The coast is very nice, - though not so spectacular like some other beaches located nearby. Shore and seabed: sand, stones. [edit]

Hotels [edit]

There are just a few real hotels in Tayrona National Park. The main accomodation option are campsites, where you can rent a tent or hammock in a some kind of dormitory.

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Cartagena international airport (CTG). Then get by bus or by taxi to one of the towns located around the Tayrona park, - in most cases these are Santa Marta or Taganga.

The tour to Park includes boat transportation (from one hour per way) or by bus. In the last case you'll have to walk from road to the beach, - about 1.5 hours of hard walking through the jungle.

When to go [edit]

You can relax any time of year on Piscine beach in Columbia. The period from August to October is a rainy season, however, these are not real rains by the tropical standards.
