Maalhos island

Maalhos is an inhabited island in Baa Atoll, Maldives. There is a small bikini beach, as well as good spots for snorkeling. The island is large enough and mostly green with a lot of trees and palms. Maalhos island has few cozy family guesthouses with rooms cost about US$100 per night (including all taxes). When you order meals or excursion, it is better to ask about the final price including all fees & taxes.

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Male international airport (MLE). There are two main transportation options to get to Maalhos island:

1. Take a domestic flight to the local Dharavandhoo island. The flight time is 20 minutes, cost of a round-trip is US$190. Next get to the island by the hotel's boat (journey time is 10 minutes, cost should be check with your hotel - approx. US$40 per person per way).

2. The cheaper option is to take a public speed boat from Male. It takes 2.5 hours per way, the ticket costs US$50 per person per way. The boat runs on Monday, Thursday and Saturday: departure from Male at 12:00, back from Maalhos island - at 8:00.

The best time for a beach holiday on Maalhos island in Baa Atoll is a dry season in the winter half of the year.
