Mermaid's Chair beach

Mermaid's Chair is a wild beach in the west of St. Thomas island, USVI. Sand spit has two beaches - northern and southern one. Unfortunately, swimming is impossible due to rocky sea bottom. You can get here only via a gate with security guard. This point is marked on the map as The Preserve at Botany Bay. Next you'll have to walk about 30 minutes with good views around. The road is easy. However, many tourists think it is hard, just because they can't drive right to the beach by car. Shore and seabed: stones, sand. [edit]

Feel free to relax in St. Thomas island any time of year. Summer half of the year is a low season due to the risk of hurricanes. But the weather is usually very good even during this period.
