Sandy Bay is a beach in the west of
Saint Thomas island, US Virgin Islands. It is beautiful, though not quite like canonical tropical paradise. Swimming is comfortable. Since there are never strong waves, nor algae. You can get to the beach only via security gates, which is marked on the map as
The Preserve at Botany Bay. Entrance is free, but limited to daytime hours. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.

When to go [edit]
Feel free to relax in St. Thomas island any time of year. Summer half of the year is a low season due to the risk of hurricanes. But the weather is usually very good even during this period.
