Ouranoupolis beach

Ouranoupolis is a southern beach near the border with restricted Mount Athos monastery area, Greece. The spot is rather mediocre. Since views are not quite that scenic, and swimming is uncomfortable due to the rocky sea bottom. There are also no showers, nor toilets on the beach. However, there are many cafes along the promenade, while sea water is calm. The place is also located far from the airport. So it is relatively secluded and uncrowded. Shore and seabed: stones, sand. In the hotels of Ouranoupolis beach, rooms' fares range from US$70 to US$300 per night. There are no real beachfront resorts. So the best is to rent apartments in the Old Town.
