Shelly beach
  Ultimate guide (October 2025)
Shelly is a very beautiful beach in the south of Mombasa, but completely abandoned. The reason is that this is an extremely dangerous place. In 1997, there were mass killings between different local nationalities. As for now, even large groups of "non-locals" (including Kenyans from other areas of Mombasa) will be the subject of armed robbery. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.

Hotels [edit]
Until 1997, there were good beach resorts in Likoni, but all of these are closed now. If there ever will be a hotel ensuring the safety for its guests, it will be in great demand.

How to get there [edit]
 Fly to
Nairobi international airport (NBO), next fly to
Mombasa airport (MBA). Then get to
Likoni pier, and cross the river by the ferry.

When to go [edit]
The beaches of Mombasa offer great relax all year round except for the rainy season in May.
