Penguins usually gather on the main beach, which is closed for tourists. You can only walk along the wooden pathway (admission fee US$10) to the observation deck. There are mountains around, while coastline is pretty nice and without strong waves (especially in the west end of the bay). Abandoned fishing factory adds its charm to this iconic place. Unfortunately, this idyll won't last forever. A major investor purchased the land and plans to develope everything with modern tourist infrastructure. It is also known among locals as Pirates beach. The beach itself is nice, but incredible crowd kills all the beauty of this place.
