Bandos Maldives is a private island not far from Maldives capital town (North Male atoll). This is a perfect tropical escape with white sand and palms hanging over the water. There is also a house reef with good snorkelling. The island has always a lot of tourists, as it's located near the international airport. Kurumba Maldives is an island resort - the nearest one to the International airport of Maldives, North Male atoll. The island is beautiful with excellent beaches, but it has some disadvantages. The first problem is a breakwater, which spoil view to the water. The second problem is that the island is packed with buildings, so it is hard to find a secluded place. Centara Ras Fushi is a private island - one of the closest to the International airport of Maldives, North Male atoll. That's the only good thing about this place. The island itself is small and without many trees, while overwater villas are located on an uncomfortable bottom. The main beach on the island also has bad rocky entry into the water. Main beach is rather mediocre, so we don't recommend to stay here for a long time. Views are beautiful, but there are few downsides. Himmafushi is a local island in the Maldives (North Male atoll) - the closest one to International airport after the capital town. There is no beach at all, and as often happens in such cases, the island is positioned as a place for the suberb diving and surfing. However, everywhere in the Maldives there is diving and some kind of surfing. As for the chance to contact with locals, there are more beautiful inhabited islands in the Maldives. / read more » /
